Yes. Clearing the FRCS exam is the minimal mandatory requirement for a candidate to become a consultant in the UK. After passing the FRCS and obtaining a CCT, you will be entered into the Specialist Register, making you eligible to be interviewed for a consultant position within the NHS.
Obtaining an International FRCS boosts candidates’ CVs, opening work opportunities in foreign countries. Also, with International FRCS, candidates can enter the UK and work as a Senior Fellow in any speciality. However, candidates must note that International FRCS is not recognised by the GMC to issue CCT or become a Consultant in the UK
