The Association of Surgeons in Training (ASiT) is an independent professional body dedicated to promoting the highest standards in surgical education and training.
Established in 1976 as a forum for senior registrars to exchange ideas and discuss training matters, ASiT has evolved into one of the largest specialty associations in the United Kingdom, representing over 3,500 surgical trainees and medical students across all ten surgical specialties.
ASiT is the only organization in the UK representing surgeons in training at both core and higher levels. It plays an influential role in shaping national training policy through representation on the Royal Colleges of Surgeons, the Joint Committee on Surgical Training, and various specialty advisory boards.
Run entirely by trainees, for trainees, ASiT remains independent and continues to champion fairness, educational excellence, and professional development opportunities through conferences, courses, fellowships, and research initiatives.
PrepMedico shares ASiT’s mission of advancing high-quality surgical education and supporting trainees through every stage of their professional journey.
Through this collaboration, PrepMedico provides structured educational support for Royal College Fellowship examinations through consultant-led teaching, exam-focused mentorship, and high-quality digital learning platforms.
Together, ASiT and PrepMedico aim to enhance access to comprehensive, exam-focused educational resources, mentorship opportunities, and collaborative learning platforms that prepare surgical trainees for successful fellowship and consultant careers.
PrepMedico will conduct FRCS-focused workshops/webinars during selected ASiT educational events and conferences.
All memberships will be verified directly with ASiT.
