PrepMedico is an internationally recognized surgical and medical education platform in the UK, delivering structured training, mentorship programs, and mock examinations for various higher surgical and medical exams including FRCS General Surgery (JCIE/JSCFE), FRCS Vascular, FRCOpth, as well as SCFHS courses.

PrepMedico is already successfully running FRCOphth courses with excellent faculty and global participation. As part of our continued growth, we are now expanding our ophthalmology faculty pool and launching a new faculty team for FRCS (Glasgow) Ophthalmology.

Role Overview

Faculty members will be involved in delivering structured online teaching sessions, clinical and viva discussions, and mentorship for ophthalmology candidates preparing for both FRCOphth and FRCS (Glasgow) examinations.

This role provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to a well-established UK-based edutech platform while expanding your educational footprint internationally.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct online interactive teaching sessions, viva practice, and clinical scenario discussions.
  • Contribute to the development of ophthalmology question banks, structured clinical cases, and recorded lectures.
  • Provide personalised feedback and academic mentorship to candidates.
  • Collaborate with other faculty members to maintain high educational and examination standards.
  • Participate in course planning, quality improvement initiatives, and support accreditation and endorsement activities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • FRCOphth (Fellowship of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists) and/or FRCS (Glasgow) Ophthalmologyessential.
  • Currently practising in ophthalmology – essential.
  • Prior or current teaching experience at post-graduate training level.
  • Completion of a teaching qualification such as “Train the Trainer”, “Medical Education Certificate”, or equivalent – advantageous.

Time Commitment & Flexibility

  • Approximately 2–3 hours per week, with complete flexibility around clinical work.
  • Sessions and contributions can be planned according to personal availability.
  • Engagement may include lectures, viva practice, or content development depending on interest.

Remuneration

PrepMedico offers a modular payment structure based on the type of faculty engagement — sessional payments, lecture packages, or long-term partnership models.
