How long does it take to complete PLAB?

It should not take more than 1.5 – 2 years if diligently prepared

How many times can you attempt PLAB exams?

You can attempt the exam a maximum of four times.

I have failed 4 times. Can I take it again?

If you’ve failed the exam four times, you can apply for one final attempt after 2 years from the date of the last attempt. However, candidates need to demonstrate evidence of additional learning over a 12-month period and make an application to GMC

I have passed PLAB 1, what next?

You must pass PLAB 2 within three years of the date you passed PLAB 1.

What is the pattern for PLAB 1?

Part 1 is a written multiple-choice exam, with 180 single-best-answer questions

What is the pattern for PLAB 2?

PLAB 2 is made up of 16 scenarios, each lasting eight minutes.

How many times is the exam conducted a year?
